Look thee not back, my bonnie my lad,

life lies before thee, His glory ahead--
Heed ye not whatt is passing!

To be His own, to put hand to plough,
'Tis thought by some too dreary.
But lift thine eyes: satrs crown His Brow--
Receive His gaze and be merry!

Search thee no more for th rainbow's end--
'Tis found in only one place.
